Relationships 3 + 4 = 7

Relationship Word Cloud copyright Susan Carpenter Coaching and Consulting

3- The trinity: Father, son and Holy Spirit = the foundation

4 – relationship requirements: Love, Trust, Respect and Understanding = the supports

7 days a week success stories for 2 come from the Foundation + the Supports. Are you missing anything? Have you added unnecessary items to the equation? Items that will never add up to success? If you add any quantity of pain or trauma, the relationship will be broken. If you lose the foundation, you will only have a you and a me without the foundation that unifies and creates a relationship called we. If you subtract any of the supports, the love, the trust, the respect or the understanding, the relationship is one with no stability. You and me will often stand alone, disconnected or in conflict and competition. Even worse, one or both people will look for those supports elsewhere.

When you are not able to lean on the other person, the foundation will keep you firmly planted in patience and in forgiveness. Those not standing on a firm foundation can easily stumble and fall.

These are affairs of the heart, not to be left to chance. They should be rooted in on-going development, worked on and worked through so they can grow and deepen for a lifetime.

The Bible says:

Proverbs 4:23

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it it”

Luke 6:45

” The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.”

People today do not guard their hearts and therefore, many of us are wounded without understanding why or how to move beyond it. Take it from one whose past included deep wounds from the past, it takes faith, hope and belief to heal. I can help you achieve knowledge, but I cannot do the healing. Full and complete healing comes when you walk with God every day.
